Sorry for the late reply - we use WP for our blog, but we use a mostly static custom site for our main site at https://designspike.com

For the next version, we would go with the same setup, since we have so many blog entries in WP and there's not a great reason to migrate.

In general, I would recommend Bolt to PHP devs who are looking to build a well-structured site for their clients, and who don't want to use wordpress :)

Thank you for posting this Will. I have been evaluating options for a site. I don't want to use WP because it's not a good fit. Drupal 8 was my first thought but really too heavy. Need to be able to create very customized content types... Considered Drupal fork Backdrop too and like it's direction better than Drupal 8.

Other candidates are Expression Engine which I really like (even though it's not free). But I saw a comment on a comparison post that mentioned Bolt should be looked at. So I took Bolt out for a spin but really wasn't impressed. I saw a glimmer of potential but it all seemed kind of unfinished. I read some documentation etc. and did net surfing but really wasn't grokking it until I read your post. It really set some light bulbs off and got me going in the right direction.

I see you folks use WP for DesignSpike. Would you consider Bolt for your own site if/when you decide to redesign. Not suggesting it needs one, just curious about how strong you are on Bolt

in your fb home url, change www to m... and it goes to mobile version... after it change back m to www... it's fine temporary, you just unlike inactive page, leave non active group, and raports many time to fb... try find another solution if not working...

In terms of Twig, Composer and Symfony Components Drupal 8 is — anyway in my humble opinion — not all that bad either, as it is based on similar foundations… but in terms of simplicity, “what you see is what you need” approach, lack of over-bloat it is, indeed, a fresh air breeze. In like 90% of situations customer may not need to use a Drupal sized armored tank, capable of running huge portals, in order to create a company site. Bolt fieldable content types, references, etc. are more than enough.

I accessed my Facebook business page from an android mobile device. While there are a lot of different tabs such as home, posts, reviews etc. The home tab is blank and there isn't any content in it, as you can see from the image attached. Could you kindly guide me on what am I doing wrong please? My timeline is filled with content, albums and photos related to my page so I can't really understand what's the problem.

I have not been able to logon to Facebook at all. Took it to my professional Geek and he could do nothing with it. He reports that this is nation wide. Some come up in a few days and others longer. I have been down 6 days.

hi, great post, I have wordpress, but I already had downloaded filezilla, to upload the bing and google code that index my website, I did it in that way because I can't edit my php features or files directly, because they don't appear, I don't why, if it is due to my theme. What would you recommend me to do? use the plugin or your tutorial with filezilla? or both are ok

Nope. As with Yusef up there, my personal news feed is gone, almost everything is non-responsive, but my blog/business page works fine. Just my personal stuff, the master account. No matter browser or platform. Only works from my Android phone.

Okay, that worked, and it worked instantly. Can you explain WTF it means, why it works, and what's going on? And how anyone would know to type that in the first place? I'm one of those long-time MS-DOS-era PC gurus, and I have no idea how you'd figure that out!

EDITED TO NOTE: It doesn't give me access to "most recent" posts (which still returns a blank news feed), and it doesn't solve the inactive notifications and other lagging FB problems that come along with a blank news feed. This is a baffling issue.

EDITED TO FURTHER ADD: Turns out, it just gives me two posts on my newsfeed, nothing below, no "more stories" button to click, no access to photos, still useless. :( Obviously, there must be a work around, since what you suggested gave me SOMETHING, but it did not fix the issue.

Would have loved to see this in action! I've been desperately searching for a way to create a scrolling homepage and not lose out on things like seo. My site is http://disputebills.com. I got it working fine, but the one page makes it miss out on things like google sitelinks. I thought about creating additional pages and using header redirects,.I had a lot of good suggestions on stackover about this : http://stackoverflow.com/qu.... I'd love to see this implementation with waypoints and history.js if you still have it online still somewhere! Thanks!
