Jimmy, I understand what you are saying and yes there are times when a person acts out of character during desperation, anger, etc. and in a perfect world people wouldn't make snap judgement's.

By the context of this post though, I think that this was not an isolated incident and happens frequently with this individual, (she just cited this particular one). Ally is not one to make snap judgement's.

I do have to disagree with you on the lion's share of pompous assholes being decent.

In my experience asshole and decent don't ever fit in the same sentence, an asshole is an asshole in everything that they do. Which honestly, I appreciate, they are true to their character and I know what to expect from them. It is the people who walk around claiming and preaching that they are decent, when in fact they are not, that I have a problem with.

You make an excellent point. In this case, the reputation preceded the person (reputation being the keyword). However, it was still a judgement, wasn't it? Dangerous things those. I just can't convince myself to cut 'em out.

Maybe he just forgot his wallet and asked a favor. Without knowing more, it seems you're being a bit swift in labeling this man as an egomaniacal "rock star."

Judge a person on the entirety of their actions, not their isolated actions. There are countless rock stars in this world that come across as pompous assholes. I'm sure the lion's share of them are decent.

Well said and frankly whether you are a Rock Star or not you should be embarrassed that you even thought of asking to be comped anything. If a comp ticket or other freebie is thrown my way I take it and then graciously thank and promote those that gave it to me. (Disclosing the freebie of course.) I don't ever ask. Makes me feel cheap...and besides...if I don't pay... I may be less objective in my review of said business/event...who does that help?

I admit, I should be a fan of landing pages and controlling visitor's actions (and for my Client's, I am =) but personally, they make me pretty crazy. I'm more likely to bounce. Then again, I have to remember that I am not the statistical average.

Hey Ally is Gemma again. Thanks for the reply. I thought I signed up to get comments by email. I usually do. Fail to me. Yeah. You're right. She could have done an Obama @ The White House kind'a thing. The first time I went to that website after a recommendation, for website design purposes only lol, I saw he had a landing page too!!! But at the bottom right hand corner, it had a link to website, so people could choose what to do.

In step 4 I needed to use the number from "idList" not id. Not a big deal . . but it meant a few extra minutes to figure out why mine didn't work.
